Gaston Luga has reached out to me again for another collaboration post sharing on my social platform. As always, they would ask me to select any of the latest bag product on their catalog and would ship it over to me at no cost on my part – full disclosure!

But it’s no big deal at this day and time, because it is pretty rare for a reviewer to be writing about a product without any motivation. And I pick the word very carefully, because “motivation” is the right word. Not incentive. Not sponsorship. Not endorsement. But MOTIVATION. What motivates me? It’s not money. It is a desire to experience an interesting product and then share my opinions on my personal platform.
To motivate me, the product must be interesting, or at the very least, useful. So, when GL pinged me a day after they emailed me to ask if I am keen, I replied that I was still browsing their catalog for something that interests me. If I couldn’t, I would be replying that I am not keen to do a review.

See, I already reviewed their backpack – the durable GL X Nikon backpack that I still use. So I don’t need another backpack. I also got that really useful GL shopping bag that is generously sized for my vinyl record shopping.

Then this time round, I spotted a product that interests me – a crossbody bag. And not any crossbody. It’s another GL X NIKON collab product! The GL X Nikon Spläsh Crossbody!

It uses the same eco-friendly recyclable polyester with waterproof TPU coating. While the exterior is identical with the other normal Spläsh Crossbody models, the Nikon variant comes with a detachable velcro camera divider and its interior is grey, just like the Backpack version.

Using eco-friendly waterproof material that is waterproof rated at 8000mm, there are two internal zippers and an external back pocket for partitioned storage.

Three reasons for choosing this bag: I want a smaller bag to hold few small items like smartphones, wallet, earbuds, among other things, which would be an overkill for a large sling bag. Second, its minimalist design with durable waterproof material is suitable for work and leisure. Last, it’s a collab product with Nikon, my favourite camera brand.
I was impressed at how much stuff I can actually carry in the bag. Check this video:
The Crossbody bag caught my daughter’s interest, and she immediately requested to use it. In return, I told her she got to pose for my IG posts.
