In this article, you will find the top independent product reviewers who provide detailed reviews on true wireless earbuds, headphones for over-ear, on-ear, in-ear, IEM, headsets for gaming, work, study. These writers are not from any commercial tech sites, nor are they “professionals”, hence their reviews are more grounded, less technical, without editorial influence. Disclaimer: it does not mean commercial tech sites are not reliable, many of them publish accurate reviews too. The purpose here is to let readers uncover more product reviewers in Singapore so that readers can make better decisions. There is no such thing as “too many reviews”. It is always good to hear opinions from a lot of people before buying.

Finding experienced content creators to read their trusted reviews are important because:
- There are many local tech blogs that cover general tech-related topics which I find very useful and genuine but they do not go into details on audio product reviews. It is easy to google and find “best tech blogs in Singapore” but hard to find “best headphone blogs/reviews in Singapore”.
- There are also a lot of high-SEO posts that rank the “best” headphones but they are usually a compilation list without real hands-on experience. These posts are designed to achieve high search traffic for the respective sites.
- Globally, there are a lot of hands-on headphone reviewers but they might not offer a local perspective which can be important.
- There are also reviews posted on online shopping platforms like Lazada, Shopee, but again these real shoppers are motivated to write short reviews just to earn rewards.
Step by Step Research before Buying Your Next Gadget
If you truly want a good pair of headphones, you need to do your research. Here are the steps I recommend:
- Do a generic search based on your use case, for instance, “the best headphones for ANC” or “top headphones for running”, “headphones below S$100”, “best gaming headsets”.
- Shortlist the products that websites and people recommend.
- Do a specific product search on these models, for instance, “brand ABC model 123 review”, “compare model 123 and model 456”. I feel this is the most important step because you want to find detailed write-ups on blogs, articles, videos, by experienced reviewers, instead of product description and promoted articles. Remember to add “Singapore” in your keyword search to narrow down to articles reviewed by local users.
- Once you have made your purchase decision, search for the best price to buy the product. For me, I will use my shopping app like Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, and check all the sellers and their prices. Don’t forget to also search on Carousell, where some sellers could be offering their pre-loved in good condition or unopened received as free gifts at a discount.
Here are the list of headphones and true-wireless earbuds reviewers based in Singapore whom you should include in your research before your purchase:
Music Photo Life

Music Photo Life started in 2006 by me, Chester Tan. Till date, I have published over 1000 review articles. Music Photo Life is very established in Singapore as many brands and PR agencies approach the site regularly to review products because my reviews target general consumers and the content offers a balance of details but not too brief.

In-Ear Fidelity (@crinacle)

Crinacle (whos real name I shall not reveal) is an experienced “measurebator” who spends his entire adult life doing earphone measurements to produce frequency response curves. Till date, he has measured over 1000 IEMs and headphones, creating the largest database of headphone graph measurements. He has an exceptional ear and critical of audio products and garners a massive following in the worldwide audiophile community. His way of writing might not appeal to general consumers but those who demands a more technical assessment of the products will find his opinions very insightful.

Jonny Zhu

I found Jonny through a local tech forum and over the past year, he has been buying true wireless earbuds and producing video content to share his reviews. Here’s a shoutout to him so that his hard work does not go to waste.

Loud and Wireless

Aaron is Loud and Wireless! He has grown his YouTube followers organically over the years and he offers detailed reviews as well as opinions on upcoming products and news. Visit his recently-launched website.

Tech Jio
Tech Jio is run by Taiming and publishes regular reviews on his blog. Many times, he receives similar products as me for review, so if you need to validate the reviews I write, he is a good alternative site to check out.

These are the ones that I have found through my research. If you come across any other Singapore-based content creators who provide good detailed reviews on audio products, email me (editor@ musicphotolife.com) so that I can add them in.
