The Lyfro Air Capsule is a UVC light sanitizer with 10W wireless charging. Made by UNIQ, a Singapore designer tech brand, it kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses in 8 minutes. It retails at their website at US$54.90 with free shipping in Singapore.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone is paranoid about the virus and are finding all sorts of ways to kill them. While we may be mindful to sanitize our hands, we often neglect the stuff that we carry with us – smartphones, keys, wallet contents, earphones. For ladies, they have a bag full of cosmetic and other knick-knacks.
There are also warnings that exposure to UVC light is hazardous to our skin and eyes. That is why the Lyfro Air Capsule has a safety mechanism that only activates the UVC light when the cover is closed. Press the button to start the process, and after 8 minutes, the light will turn off automatically. In several literatures, UVC will kill germs within seconds at close proximity, so 8 minutes is a really long time, but I believe UNIQ has done some lab tests to determine the amount of time needed to eliminate germs within the large container.
It also has an aroma diffusion function but it doesn’t have a strong smell.
The Air Capsule can fit large phones, including the largest iPhone model, Galaxy Note, or Google Pixel 4 XL. Use the Air Capsule on products that can be challenging to sanitize with liquid and wipes, for instance, jewellery, miniature toy collection, or even bank notes.
The convenient thing is that once you sanitize your electronic gadgets, you can just leave it on top of the cover to charge it wirelessly. The Air Capsule delivers 10W power which is a Qi standard for fast charging.
I am unable to verify if the Air Capsule can kill bacteria and virus, but the spec claims it uses the 253.7nm UVC Light, which is the right wavelength for killing germs.

The Lyfro Air Capsule is a convenient gadget that makes disinfection a daily affair, just like charging your devices. With a 2-in-1 design, it is less likely to become a white elephant as it lets you disinfect and charge your smartphones and earbuds in a single product.
