Honor is a sub-brand of Huawei that offers affordable mid-range products. The Honor 8 Pro is anything but mid-range. I was scrutinizing the specs and was stunned to find the hardware is almost identical to Huawei P10 Plus! Here’s a quick comparison on the specs:

I have just backed up from P10 Plus using the Huawei Backup app and restored all the apps and messages to the Honor 8 Pro. With the exception of a few apps, majority of them are ported over seamlessly with all the data and login details intact, even Whatsapp. Over the next 3 weeks, I will experience the Honor 8 Pro to write a full review before returning the device to Lazada Singapore (thanks for the loan).
But seriously, just look at the comparison specs above. I think Honor 8 Pro is an amazing deal, especially when you tend to judge the quality of the phone by the performance. Honor 8 Pro is fitted with the flagship processor, same as P10 Plus. It has a larger display and larger battery than P10 Plus. And it is $400 cheaper! OK, maybe the current street price of P10 Plus is dropped. But still, go do the math. Meanwhile, the Honor 8 Pro is my main smartphone.
Check back my blog in 3 weeks for more insights about Honor 8 Pro, which starts selling on Lazada from 31 August Thursday 12pm, the same time that COMEX 2017 opens doors to public.
