It seemed like yesterday when Sennheiser celebrated its 75th anniversary with a series of limited edition audio products, like the legendary HD 800 S which I proudly owned. This year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Sennheiser, and among other special editions, the MOMEMTUM 4 is reimagined through the eyes an dears of vanguard German graffiti artist Bond Truluv.

The left earcup features Bond Truluv’s signature “throwie” tag, layered over a raw backdrop to evoke motion and depth. On the right side, abstract linework inspired by audio waveforms flows across the surface, an artistic tribute to both chaos and control in sound. Yellow accents throughout the design offer a nod to the iconic Sennheiser HD 414 and its revolutionary leap forward in sound and style.

I previously reviewed the MOMENTUM 4 in 2022, and thanks to Sonova PR team, I received this new loan unit to re-experience the sound. This edition certainly revives the M4 interest though I was a little surprised to see that Sennheiser did not release a new model. A comparison with the new JBL Tour One M3 reveals the MOMENTUM 4 is still not obsolete with all the features like ANC, Transparency, USB-C digital audio, 3.5mm passive audio, battery level indicator, Sidetone during calls, 60-hour battery life.

And what’s better on the M4 is the sound quality. It is definitely not the most faithful-sounding tuning, but it sure induces goosebumps. Who doesn’t love the sparkling treble details, or the deep bass, from your favourite music? The M4 strikes a good balance of giving more musical transparency but not too pushy, while offering low-end bass vibes without too muddy. Midrange is comfortably expressive though the JBL comes forth as a little better in instrumental separation. In terms of listening enjoyment, it’s the M4 for sure.
Verdict

The 80th anniversary edition of the Momentum 4 retails in Singapore at S$499 S$379, which is the same price as the normal edition. I would get it for the sake of its uniqueness, but if the graffiti design at the earcup is not your thing, each purchase of the M4 comes with the SG60 Touchpad Sticker Kit featuring unique local designs (ends 31 Aug 2025). Or you can also get other colourways – black, white, copper, demin. For more detailed review, visit my original post in 2022.
