Pamu has always been sending me their products prior to global launch so that I can review and share my experience to readers and people once they are announced. The Pamu Fit reached me a month ago and I had no idea what to expect since it is a new product with scant details except for some product photos and brief description.
After unboxing, I was surprised at the size of the charging case and the full-silicone mould facing the ear. The mould ergonomically fits the outer ear canal, tragus and concha without the conventional ear tips. Pamu claims the mould should fit 70% of users, and my ears are one of those that fit, but since there are no hooks or tips to grip the earbuds to my ears, they feel at risk of dropping out, which is ironic because it is precisely this that makes them feel more comfortable without experiencing any pressure contact with the ear skin.
Despite not having ear tips to seal the earbuds in the ear canals, the Pamu Fit can deliver satisfying bass fullness, without the excessive treble sparkle and sizzle. It is a compromise: you should prefer your audio balance to focus on the low-end more than the upper frequencies. Quite often, open-fit earbuds lack bass impact, so the Pamu Fit comes as a great earbud to deliver the bass prowess in a semi-open-fit form.
ANC is available on the Pamu Fit, and while the semi-open fit means ANC will not be as strong as others, it is nevertheless helpful in reducing ambient sound to achieve better noise isolation.
The casing is impressively small and compact, and it’s unusual to sport a casing with clear cover. It can hold charges enough to listen to the Pamu Fit for up to 15 hours. Each earbud can hold 6 hours of listening. They are IPX4 water resistant so the Pamu Fit can survive getting a bit wet. The earbuds also support low latency mode.
