AirAux is a sub-brand of BlitzWolf and they have launched almost a dozen products where red is the brand colour. Thanks Banggood for sending me the AA-UM7 for my review. It retails at US$39.99, and as usual, there are regular in-store promotions, and right now they are going at S$19.99.

The retail box deviates from the main BlitzWolf product packaging. Here, there is clear display of the brand name as well as a product photo to attract buyers. The top of the case has a dark tinted see-through acrylic so that you can see the LED charging indicator on the earbuds.
The AA-UM7 is an open-fit, half-in-ear, true wireless earbuds. It runs on Bluetooth 5.0, and both earbuds connect to the smartphone directly without master-slave control . The earbuds are IPX5 water resistance, offers 4 hours of continuous play time. The playback controls are operated through the tiny touch sensor and you can adjust volume too. Tap once to adjust volume, double tap to play-pause, hold to change tracks.

Most open-fit earbuds have poor bass impact due to the lack of seal. The AA-UM7 attempts to improve in that aspect with a protrusion that channels audio better towards the ear canals. While the bass is adequately pompous, they are no match for the treble brilliance, so comparatively, the bass still lacks the resonance. Additionally, since the earbud seal tend to loosen during commute, you will eventually lose that bass intensity unless you keep adjusting the fit. So I would prefer to conclude that the bass is not the emphasis.

On the other hand, the treble clarity is quite over-the-top, bringing out a lot of the sizzles and spatial roominess, with some hint of distortion at the upper frequency zone, though not really noticeable during casual listening. The midrange sounds clean though lacks warmth.
- Bass – 6.5/10. Clean bass without overpowering the other frequency ranges.
- Midrange – 6.8/10. Clean sounding details.
- Treble – 7.8/10. Sparkling spatial output.

The mic quality is tuned towards the warm sounding spectrum, delivering midrange fullness and volume that other party should easily hear. The mic is also more sensitive around the vocal frequencies, so anyone speaking in the background will inevitably be picked up by the mic. But as long as the wearer speaks louder, it would be manageable.
The right earbud mic usually takes precedence in a call, and when the earbud is switched off when docked in the charging case, the left mic takes over seamlessly without a glitch. Do remember to close the case cover so that the active earbud will be shut down, or else the mic will not switch-over.
Verdict

The AirAux AA-UM7 offers a standard of true-wireless experience that exceeds beyond the current promotion price value. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 connection, IPX5 water resistance, touch controls including volume adjustments, and pronounced treble details for vocal content. Order it from Banggood at the best flash deal price of US$19.99 today.
