PRISM+ has launched their first premium OLED TV and audio soundbar. The PRISM+ Alpha (AL) is the brand’s first foray into the OLED display space and 2 models will be available – 55AL at S$1,699 and 65AL at S$2,799. There will also be two soundbar models – the PRISM+ Symphony at S$699 features Dolby ATMOS spatial audio, and the PRISM+ Flow at S$249 features Dolby Audio.
PRISM+ has been very successful in recent years, reporting 1,100% sales growth between 2019 and 2021, as demand for entertainment and work-from-home setups rises. Their key selling point is aggressive pricing, where they sell products with similar specs compared to traditional brands at a lower price. I have owned a PRISM+ X340 monitor for more than 2 years and I have been very pleased so far.
PRISM+ went into the TV line in 2019 and became the first Singapore brand to be certified to sell Android TV, its Q-series elevated their market share to become Lazada’s top-selling Android TV brand. The OLED panel technology is long seen as the gold standard for home cinematic displays, as each pixel is self-lit without the need for backlights, and this results in outstanding contrasts zero blooming, and slim size. The PRISM+ AL series are only 3.8mm thin and near zero-bezel frame. The OLED panels from LG achieves superior HDR at 700cd/m2 peak brightness and 125% DCI-P3 colour volume, and motion smoothing (MEMC) technology.
Given a limitation of audio prowess on the Smart TV, PRISM+ has introduced two soundbars to further enhance the home entertainment experience. The Symphony soundbar features Dolby Atmos to produce 5.1.2 channel sound over 2 upward-firing speaker drivers, paired with a wireless subwoofer. The soundbar also supports HDMI eARC, HDMI Video In, optical in, coaxial in, Aux in, Bluetooth 5.0, USB playback, in various Dolby formats like Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, reaching a peak power output of 760W.
The entry-level PRISM+ Flow is a 2.1-channel stereo speaker supporting Dolby Digital and Digital Plus audio with a wireless subwoofer. It supports HDMI ARC, optical in, coaxial in, Aux in, Bluetooth 5.0, USB playback. What attracts me is the wireless subwoofer config which allows me to place the big black box up to 6 metres away without ugly cable restriction.
