Singapore Motorshow 2017 (12 to 15 Jan)

This year, I managed to attend the Singapore Motorshow 2017. Last year I was invited but I was down with a terrible illness.

Here are the list of launches and showcases that I attended on the first day. I enjoyed a few of the creative presentations as they unveil the cars.

Audi Q2, Audi A5 Coupe, Audi R8 Spyder

The star of the Audi is the R8 Spyder, flown in specially for the Motorshow, but not homologated (approved) for sale.

Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and C4 Picasso

Putting up an impressive launch show with mannequin-pose intro before breaking into a spirited dance. Liv Lo was the emcee for Citroen.

DS 3 Cabrio

DS is a sub-brand from Citroen. The new DS 3 Cabrio continues the trend of compact cars with style.

Ford Mustang

It’s awarded the best 4-cylinder coupe by ST-Torque Awards 2016.

Honda NSX

Stunning design, where most of us would have to contend with die-cast models.

Kia Niro

It’s Kia’s first hybrid car in SUV crossover style and it’s going below S$110,000.

Lexus IS

Mazda MX-5 RF and CX-9 SUV

Jessica Liu and Pierre Png are the brand ambassadors for Mazda. The headlights look menacing.

Mitsubishi ASX

One of the more interesting launch performances in the Singapore Motor Show 2017. I shot it using LG 360 CAM to let you have some fun in immersing in the event. Jean Danker was the emcee for Mitsubishi.

Nissan Note Medalist

Peugeot 3008 SUV

Yet another SUV is unveiled. Interesting headlight design and the 2-tone outlook to “sportify” the vehicle. Jade Seah was engaged as the emcee for Peugeot.

 Toyota C-HR and Mirror Harrier

Toyota aims to strengthen their SUV range this year. C-HR stands for Coupe-High Rider, and this 1.2L turbo FWD variant will be coming to Singapore soon. The Mirror Harrier is a concept car and not for sale. Bobby Tonelli was the emcee for Borneo Motors Singapore.

Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet and Tiguan

Other new car model launches to look out when you visit the Singapore Motorshow 2017 at Suntec Convention Centre Levels 3-4:

  • Hyundai IONIQ – first hybrid car from Hyundai
  • Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400, Q60 Coupe
  • Nissan Pulsar
  • Renault Megane Sedan, GT and Line
  • Subaru Impreza
  • Suzuki Ignis
  • Volvo V90 and S90

Don’t forget to head to the Volkswagen booth first to get a trolley box to hold all your brochures and goodies!
