As the title suggests, I have the JBL Surprise Box. It’s nice to come back to a full circle: the very first Lazada surprise box I received was also a JBL box. Last round, the JBL surprise box contained the JBL GO. This round, the JBL surprise box is… the JBL GO 2.
The upgrade is quite significant: the JBL GO 2 is now IP67 water rated, so you can use it in wet environments, even inside the water. Too bad it doesn’t have a place to hook up a carabiner. For that, you need to get JBL Clip series.
The connection ports are all sealed up. There is the micro USB charging port as well as the 3.5mm line in jack if you prefer direct wired audio.
The speaker is also more rounded compared to the cuboid JBL GO. Even the grille has a slight bulge.
The operating buttons are located at the top.
Sound-wise, the JBL GO 2 offers a little more sub-bass response than the JBL JRPOP, but are otherwise almost identical in the sound signature. The only reason to choose one over the other is the design.
The treble is sufficiently clear to deliver that hi-fi joy, the bass subtly pumps at certain frequencies. This small speaker is loud enough to be heard from the next room. JBL doesn’t disappoint.

The JBL GO 2 is great for use near the pool or beach, but is equally great for home use, in the bathroom or kitchen.
