Nikon is 100 years old this year.
In the 80s, our family had a Nikon point-and-shoot film camera and that got me acquainted with the brand.
As I grew up and got interested in photography, my uncle passed me the Nikon EM SLR with 50mm f/1,8 lens to try out.
I grew my interest with that, proceeded to buy more lenses, upgraded to other Nikon SLRs like FE2, FA, F-601. What I enjoyed about the Nikon SLR compared to Canon was the full manual experience of adjusting aperture using the ring. Back then when auto metering was already prevalent, I still love the ability to control the exposure aspects. It is also this legacy design that allowed old lenses to remain usable even on new digital SLR bodies.
Happy Birthday, Nikon. I look forward eagerly for you to continue offering innovative imaging solutions for the generations to come.
