When LEAGOO sent me the latest Shark 1 smartphone for review, I could not believe the number of features it has, yet only selling at S$399, and that the first shipment was completely snapped up by over 100 independent retailers.

Here is what the Shark 1 offers.

6300mAh Battery with Fast Charge and Power Bank

Just wow. If your current battery is 3000mAh, this is DOUBLE. Theoretically, you can achieve TWICE the usage span of your current phone. In addition, Shark 1 supports LGQC v3.0 technology to deliver peak current of 3A, even though the supplied charger is rated 9V/2A. LEAGOO claims that with 30-min charge, it will give you an entire day of usage. Or you can charge the battery completely within 3 hours. And when your other devices are running flat, you can plug them to the Shark 1 and charge them. Come to think of it, the Shark 1 battery capacity is even larger than some power banks in the market!

6-inch Full HD LG Display

If you need a huge high-resolution screen for an immersive visual experience, the Shark 1 will not disappoint. The LTPS technology claims 30% brightness improvement and 20% reduction in battery consumption.

8.5 mm + 240g

It’s thin, and it’s heavy! But in perspective, you don’t need to carry 2 smartphones, which would weigh more than the Shark 1 alone. That’s why the tagline is “You’ll only need ONE.” After all, Shark 1 is encased in metalic unibody and 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3, and even comes with screen protector pre-installed. The entire phone just feels SOLID.

Fingerprint Sensor

I’m not a fan of fingerprint sensor, unless they work seamlessly. Shark 1 claims to unlock within 0.39 seconds, so I’m going to test it out.

Universal Remote Control

When most other smartphones have turned away from IR blaster, LEAGOO continues to provide for this feature. Though I do not use it even on my older devices, it’s still a feature worth shouting.

Front LED Flash

The rear camera is 13MP sony BSI sensor, while the front is 5MP. With rear and front LED flash, your selfies will no longer be in the shadows.

Dual SIM and MicroSD Slot

Shark 1 supports dual SIM with a shared microSD slot. Both SIMs support 4G LTE network, one at a time (2nd SIM will work in GSM).
