Singapore 2G Mobile Network Ceases from 1 Apr 2017

Today, M1, Singtel and StarHub announced that 2G mobile network shall cease fom 1 April 2017. What this means is that all your vintage mobile devices like the Motorola StarTAC, Nokia 8850, Ericsson T28 will no longer work in Singapore.

But if your devices are slightly newer, like the Ericsson T68, which uses 3G network, you’re safe, for now.

For the record, I still have the Nokia 8850 and Ericsson T28 in working condition. But looks like I have to prepare other phones as backup from 1 Apr 2017.

What vintage phones do you have that are still in working condition?
